Cemeteries - Arles

Cemeteries, as we have suggested before, provide some insight into the culture and values of the societies in which they are located. Here are a few photos from a cemetery started in the 19th century and more or less filled in the20th, in a medium-sized city. There is quite a contrast to Alyscamps even though these two cemeteries are only blocks apart in Arles. But there are also some strong similarities even though they are almost 2 millenia apart.
